An Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is a device used in fiber-optic telecommunications networks. Its primary function is to convert optical signals from the fiber-optic line into electrical signals that can be used by end-user devices such as computers, telephones, or Wi-Fi routers. ONTs are typically installed at the premises of the subscriber (such as a home or business) and serve as the interface between the fiber-optic network and the customer's equipment.
