JH-520 is a GPON Optical Network Terminal(HGU) designed for FTTH scenario. It supports L3 function to help subscriber construct intelligent home network. It provides subscribers rich, colorful, individualized, convenient and comfortable services including voice(VoIP), video (IPTV) and high speed internet access.
ONT is a crucial component in fiber-optic internet networks, acting as the interface between the fiber network and the customer's premises equipment by converting optical signals to electrical signals and vice versa.
Application
How Does an ONT Work?
- The ONT receives the high-speed optical signals from the fiber optic cable connected to the ISP's network.
- It has an optical transceiver that converts the optical signals into electrical signals using photodetectors.
- The electrical signals are then transmitted over Ethernet cables or Wi-Fi to the customer's router, which distributes the internet connection to other devices on the LAN.
