Choice of anti rodent armored optical cables for directly buried and underground conduct lines

The manufacturing process and cost of armored anti rodent fiber optic cable are not much different from ordinary optical cables. Therefore, the current anti rodent termite optical cables mainly use armor protection methods when laying directly buried and underground trench conduct.

There are two types of armored anti rodent fiber optic cable : stainless steel tape armored optical cables and steel wire armored optical cables.

1.stainless steel tape armored optical cables

Normally GYTS fiber optical cables have good rodent (house mouse) resistance. However, when the optical cable is laid in the wild, the exposed steel strips will gradually corrode after being bitten by rats, and the overlap of the steel strips is convenient for further rodent bites, as shown in the figure. therefore, the anti-rodent ability of steel tape armored fiber optical cables is very limited, especially the long-term effectiveness of the protection.

2.steel wire armored optical cables.

Compared with steel tape armored fiber optic cable GYTS. This one take steel wire take of steel tape, strands the steel wire cover the fiber cable core, increased the thickness of metal armored layer as show in below picture. With heavy effect on prevent the bites. Especially for the directly buried laying method.
